Into
I was born in Gainesville, FL in 1980. As a child I attended Twilleger Elementary, Fort Clark Middle, and Buchholz High School. I am passionate for few things such as but now limited to my Lord, my wife Jessica, hiking and riding my motorcycles, and technology. I learned almost everything I know from my father. He is a scientist and teacher. He has taught me engineering, business, assembly, and how to be a good man.
Technology
I started getting into technology at a young age. My father built automation equipment and used his children for assembly and drafting in CAD. We learned how to read schematics and plans, convert his hand drawings into AutoCAD, and how to be responsible and deal with people. We were paid based on our grades at school, an absolutely genius idea. I started building computers when I was 12 working during the summer fixing computers for my dad’s business. My first computer job was when I was 17 for CAT computers in Gainesville, FL. I learned about how to properly build and troubleshoot computers as well as how to build servers, which proved to be an incredibly valuable asset later in life. Since then I have always been on the cutting edge of technology not only understanding what is out there but learning how it can help businesses and people succeed.
I now have approximately 15 computers running and deployed at any given time. I have 3 servers dedicated to testing and learning deployment strategies, new products, software implementation, and my personal email and web hosting. My workstations vary from Windows 3.11 for workgroups, to Windows XP, Windows Vista, and MAC OS 10.4.6 and 10.4.8. I want to learn as much about technology and how it helps people as I possibly can.
Business
Business Technology is my true non-personal passion in life. The idea of teaching business owners and understanding their needs is fascinating. Take the time to ask a customer, coworker, or competitor how they do a business task, what software they use, and how much they like it or find it difficult and I guarantee you will learn something new every time. I have read many books on project management, people management, and business decision making. I am also seeking my Masters in Business Administration, hopefully to have it in the next 4 years.
More coming, I plan on building this into a several page article.
